Using Scout

You can browse public jobs without an account. If you sign in, Scout processes account information, your profile, skills and preferences to provide your workspace and personalized recommendations. Uploaded resumes are stored and processed to extract professional information. You choose what to include; avoid unnecessary sensitive information.

Scout uses hosting, authentication, database and file-storage providers to operate the service. When AI-assisted matching is enabled, relevant professional evidence and preferences may be processed by an external AI service. Recommendations are guidance, not hiring decisions.

Interactions and searches

Scout records job impressions, opens, external apply clicks and account actions such as saving or dismissing jobs. Apply clicks indicate interest; Scout does not observe completion of an application on an external site.

Search and filter context is processed to return jobs. Discovery telemetry uses temporary view and search IDs to connect a submitted search to its rendered results or a loading failure. Stored search analytics use coarse role categories and workplace filters, not raw search text or location text. Do not enter personal or sensitive information in search fields.

Retention and operational logs

Raw behavioral events are retained for 90 days, then removed in bounded scheduled batches after daily counts are preserved. Daily aggregate counts are retained for 365 days and expired in bounded batches. These aggregates contain no candidate, event, job, search or view identifiers. Cleanup can lag while the scheduler processes a backlog or recovers from an interruption.

This policy does not apply the same expiration period to account records, profiles, uploaded resumes or saved-job state. Those records remain part of your workspace. Hosting and security providers also process request metadata and operational logs under their own retention settings. Scout does not promise automatic deletion of all account data or backups.

Cookies and Google advertising

Authentication uses cookies to keep you signed in. Your browser may also store interface preferences. Scout includes Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. Google advertising cookies enable Google and its partners to serve ads based on those visits.

You can opt out of personalized Google advertising through Google Ads Settings. You can also visit aboutads.info for participating vendors’ choices, and read how Google uses information from partner sites. Browser cookie controls can limit cookies; blocking authentication cookies may prevent sign-in.

Your choices and external applications

You may browse anonymously, choose whether to create a profile or upload a resume, update supported profile fields, and sign out. Scout currently has no public self-service account-deletion flow. Applications and source links open third-party sites; their privacy policies govern information you provide there.
